Where and when were you born?
Hello everybody, My name is Nina Loos ans I was born on 1 october 1981 in a place called Smallingerland, Friesland. It's in the North of Holland. When I was 4 years old, we moved to the South of Holland. Bergen op Zoom.
What is your profession?
As a profession I give fitness lessons and help other people to achieve their goals in improving their bodies. I'm the owner of a gym, together with my husband. It's called Bodyfit-Halsteren. www.sportschoolbodyfit.nl
Were you involved in sports or fitness prior to bodybuilding/figure and how did you get started with weight training?
I allways admired muscle-women and I wanted to became stronger, that's the reason why I started lifting weights. I was about 14 years old. I started training at Bodyfit, the gym I own now. It was from the beginning my type of gym, I felt good there. When I turned 18, I became really fanatic. I also started to change my nutrition to improve my body. Jack, my husband, guided me to do that.
Was it a goal for you to compete in figure competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body?
Competing in Figure competitions was something that grew in my mind as time went on and I saw the progress in my body. Jack took me to a bodybuilding-competition (he used to compete himself as well) and that was the first time I saw what a competition was like.I fell in love immediately and dreamt about competing myself from that moment. A few years later I was on stage for the first time. In 2005.
Can you give me your competition history?

2006: Open Limburgse Championship IFBB: 2nd place Figure class

Which contest has been your biggest success; which has had the most meaning to you?
Every Contest was special to me but the one who means the most to me was my first time on stage. It was a feeling I'll never forget. It was great to win my first contest and be also overall winner. Jack, my husband is my coach as well. Together we were living up to every contest. Since 2007 I'm also sponsored by Performance. You can find information on www.performanceonline.nl
Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.)
My training contains at least 5 days a week. Every day I train 2 muscle groups. In the contest season I train every day, 7 days a week I do my cardio program. I start in the morning on an empty stomach, and my weight-lifting training will be as normal, 5 days a week, sometimes 6, to do an extra muscle group.
What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don't like so much?
My favorite exercises are the ones I haven't trained for a few days.
Which body part is your best in your opinion?
I think it is my back and shoulders.
What do you enjoy about training for competition....what do you enjoy about the 'off season'?
Whem I'm training for a competition I enjoy the feeling of the challenge I have with myself, to bring my body in the Ultimate shape. Off season I enjoy the freedom that I can spend more time to my social life and of course can snack at the weekends!!
Please describe a typical day in your life.
I get up in the morning to walk with my American Staffordshire Terrier. After that, I open our gym to receive customers and give instructions. In the morning I also make my rice and chicken or fish for the day. After that, a heavy training session is waiting for me. If it's possible, Jack and I train together.
The whole day you can find me in the gym, behind the bar or to help other people. In between I plan my own program. And I also get the groceries.
Please tell me about what you do when you don't work out (hobbies, what do you do to relax?, etc.)
To relax I listen music, go out to dance or cook a nice dinner.
What do you enjoy most about the bodybuilding/fitness lifestyle?
The lifestyle of bodybuilding/fitness makes your body in a great state of health. It feels good to work on that, and do the right thing for your body. You try to shape your body the way you like.
Tell me something interesting about yourself, something people may be surprised to hear.
I'm a very positive spontanious person. I allways try to make the best of a situation. I can be very strict to my dieet, but off season I can also enjoy other food.
